Yes, this is still an issue. I am not able to disable/enable touch pad
at all with keys. The indicator light also doesnt glow.

I checked, kernel, udev and synaptics driver but all clear.

please Alt+F2 and enter 'apport-collect 833840'(Of course without quotes :D).
