Today, I flashed my BIOS to A06 version...on my Dells-XPS-13Z (L321X)..
Still the same issue, after 1 second, the driver is unloading, due to a
"Read error"... :o/ (this trackpad on this laptop works seamlessly along

The issue I'm seeing is that tap-to-click is *always* enabled for the
two button regions at the bottom of the touchpad. It turns off for the
touchpad in general, but the button areas themselves cannot have this

One more add on to this. It actually looks like the trackpad went into a modus
where it recognized a two finger touch on the pad as a three finger touch and

Add on to this. After several resumes from both hibernation and sleep, the
trackpad now has failed me. When trying to do two finger scroll now, red rings
appear several places on the side of the window and the whole window moves when
moving the two fingers. I am sure this is a feature of multito

on the 64bit kemal 4 kernel, that mutli touch is working. I've had
success with two finger scroll after enabling it in the trackpad menu
and will try out three finger gestures

I've just installed 12.04 on my XPS13 and I'm also having troubles with
the Cypress Trackpad drivers. I'm unable to see the trackpad tab under
mouse settings, and thus can't get double finger scrolling or other
multitouch gestures to work.
I don't believe I"m having the same issue as
I will test 32-bit when the update is available and report. I think I

I got 2 finger scrolling to work!! Forgot that I actually had to turn it
on in mouse settings on the touchpad tab.
Also when I accidentally touched 3 fingers the unity grab handles
overlay popped up but was not adjustable.

Resuming after a suspend, and now the trackpad works, including the two finger

Thanks for the update I tried to install the ppa and download the
updates. But I did not notice different still the same I cannot double
tap etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I do apologize. It looks like the update I have just done was to version
1 of your new kernel, posted on 06/14, unless I am reading it
incorrectly.

for the Cypress PS/2 Trackpad. Thanks also to Dell for working with
Cypress to get this developed and delivered to us. I have tested the
driver on the Dell XPS 13 -- it works quite well.

I'm just going to chime in here with a quick +1 on this. I have the
same laptop and the same problem. It appears that, as Kamal said, there
is no kernel driver for the Cypress trackpad devices at this time.
