Shutdown (or reboot) freezes on the purple screen with the Ubuntu logo,
sometimes I get the dots, sometimes I don’t. At that point even holding
in the power button on the front of the case does not shut the system
down. I have to use the power rocker on the system power supply to shut
it down
I've noticed last evening that the point at which the hang up occurs is
not always the same. It seems to be around the time the screen gets
blanked prior to shutdown and is sometimes before and sometimes after

I tried 3.3.4, 3.4 RC 4 amd 3.4 RC 5 and didn't get the problem but I'm
reluctant to mark this as fixed upstream...
I've rebooted a couple of times with 3.2.0 during the process and it
isn't misbehaving

to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested
