I'm having the same problem - first thought it was a specific problem with dual
core processors and opened a bug (#213119).
After seeing this thread I went back to stock speed and voilla - cpu scaling
works...

Hi Pedro, I haven't had time to test again nor did I download a new

We did some tests with Brian Murray yesterday (thanks a lot for the

Yes. it was an upgrade from a gutsy installation (bootable cd version, not

Unfortunately I can't provide the log files as I fixed the problem

It seems the dependency cycle stops update-manager from upgrading. After
I uninstalled audacious-plugins-extra via Synaptic the upgrade from
(xubuntu) 7.10 to 8.04 (beta) progressed. I would guess

Yesterday I tried running the free Quake3-based game UrbanTerror.
It was a very ugly experience with lots of sound-clipping caused by pulseaudio.
Also, playing music in VLC through padsp is not entirely smooth and you

To make the pc receive files I have to kill bluetooth-applet and relaunch it.

I just upgraded a desktop PC from Gutsy to Hardy (without errors in
upgrading).
I found two new kernels in Grub's list: with the second one
(2.6.24-15-generic), everithing goes smooth.
