Of course I disaggree. The answer is not satisfactory.
Does Canonical support only the default installation or all packages in their
repository the user can possibly install additionally?
If not stated explicitly the kde related packages are supported the same way
like other ubuntu packages.
I was using the Ubuntu 7.10. I try the 8.04 but I don't have the "Comic Sans
MS" font in open office. The other special char (é, è, à ...) are perfect,
the problem is just with the ù. I think it's just an omissions in the font.

After some more testing I've come to the conclusion that sudo
modprobe/rmmod ehci_hcd doesn't always work. :( It worked a few times
but it's not consistent.
Another thing I'd like to ask to everyone that has this problem is if
you have the usbkbd module loaded. My USB Wifi has been running for 4

I am unable to use the Hardy alternate install CD because manual
partitioning does recognize the partitions that are already on my hard
drive and treats that drive as a single FAT partition.
Fdisk correctly shows the partitions that I am currently using on my
drive to run Gutsy and other systems:

Unfortunately, the crashes began again even without the nvidia and
vmware modules loaded. I tried to do a fresh install with the release
version of hardy (both the server and desktop editions), and the
installer kernel would crash before bringing up the system.

I tried with changing the "Printout Mode" to draft, and it printed

Now everything seems to work just fine, I managed to remove the
partitions with the underscore with a "sudo rm /media/partitionname_"

Ok, now I feel slightly stupid. Turns out, before hardy heron, I had to
use the ATI supplied driver, since the Ubuntu fglrx driver was too old
for my gfx card. So I had disabled the fglrx driver in /etc/default
/linux-restricted-modules

laptop, but I don't have any major delays during boot), and, obviously, my
machine freezes when I try to reboot it.

Hi,
Fan doesn't stop in Acer Aspire 1652 LMI. See attached files as it
is said in KernelTeamBugPolicies to report the bug. This didn't happen
with 7.04 or 7.10. If I am using batteries, the behavior is normal.

default desktop manager, decided I didn't like it, and uninstalled the

As I said, this was considered experimental by upstream and I don't
think things have changed in the 0.6 branch. We will consider this
decision again for the 0.7 series.

Just encountered this:
Upgraded my Kubuntu Dapper box to Hardy using update-manager -d. This box
had been set up with vnc support in xorg. Next time I attempted to connect
from my workstation in the garage(Kubuntu feisty using vncviewer), I can log
in, and get the desktop displayed, but with
