Could this be contributing? My AP requires a password (same as college

I believe I'm still having this problem, or a related one at least.
Using guarddog, but firewall is disabled:
$ sudo iptables -L

the issue is fixed in the current intrepid version, the edit menu as an
item to do the change

Then it needs to be included in Hardy.
I didn't succeed in installing the Ubuntu 8.10 packages in 8.04 because of the
dependencies on gcc and libc6 which are required.
Is there any option to backport this?

The show_desktop flag works (on Hardy) when a nautilus window is open.
It's still perhaps a bit confusing. It would help if there was a
preferences setting for 'show desktop' which would fire up nautilus if
necessary (presumably this logic does not belong to gconf-editor).

I have a same problem also with web site http://www.griddlers.net with
FireFox 3.0.
Similar problems are reported dew to Java or Flash.
But I disabled both Flash player and Java plug-ins, problem remains.
The website looks not heavy at all.
Chek out that web site too, please.
