after I updated from Kubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 I have exactly the same issue with
the ethernet controller.
The motherboard is a MSI K9VGMV with the VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev 7c).
Yesterday I installed the newest updates and the kernel is now
2.6.31-16, but the situation is the same than before. Wh
FWIW, it appears that suspend works on the problem box with
2.6.32-9-generic; resuming does not (no video after resume), but that's
a different issue.

Well, that's sort of a fix but as I am using Hardy LTS because I don't
want to be upgrading and the the latest available version for Hardy is
1.3.5-2~hardy1 it doesn't quite hit the spot for Hardy LTS users.

Problem resolved for MY upgrade/re-install.
It appears that the upgrade 9.04=>9.10 was incomplete and caused the lapse in
ZM functionality. A subsequent continuation of the OS upgrade and secondary
install of ZM 1.24.x has completed successfully. All is well.

I think I can confirm the multiple-tuner bug but was not yet able to fix the
initial issue.
My dmesg with a 2.6.28 kernel looks like the following (i stripped some
parts)
