Apologies, this *does* in fact seem to be radeon KMS related, I was
using nomodeset as the kernel parameter when in fact this seems to do
nothing now. After doing 'radeon.modeset=0 vga=771' I am now seeing good
performance in both browsers. If anyone wants me to refile this bug
under xorg-video-rad

It occurs when mouting via nautilus en use the password remember option.

I installed Lucid on April 8, wicd was working for me until I did an
update the evening of April 12. At that point I began getting the
behavior described in the bug description. nm-applet works for me.
Running the two concurrently is a bit funky, so I'm using only network-
manager-gnome right now

Actually this is a "fix" for this in the compiz C++ version (which might
even be released someday). When it detects a window is larger than max
texture size it falls back to (iirc) copySubBuffer and splits the
texture in to two or more pieces. This is much slower than using the
texture_from_pixmap

Installed Lucid 10.04 beta 2 from Alternate CD. I was able to mirror
(RAID 1) /boot on 2 TB drives via the installer. I noticed a quick grub
install message flash on the screen to show that grub was being
installed to both /dev/sda and /dev/sdb.

There is no applet sound-monitor_applet in gnome-applets packages. but
there is still man page file (/usr/share/man/man1/sound-
monitor_applet.1.gz) in this package.
I think we should remove it from this packages. If sound-monitor_applet
this looks to me like a gvfs crash, the backtrace is good will send it
upstream.

No, it is not a duplicate. The steps to reproduce them are completely
different, and I can't reproduce #407547, but this particular bug
happens every single time.

decided to try a fresh install without shrinking the existing partition.
Using a Lucid LiveCD dated 31 march 2010, and choosing the 'update this
program' option to refresh Ubiquity I went in and chose a manual partition
