well, I reported it in bug 314119. I am running all of proposed but
don't use the gnome-applet; setting it through gnome-power-manager did
not work but does work with the -10.20 kernel. Manually echoing values

module and adding the brightness_enable=1 option to the thinkpad_acpi

I was able to reproduce the issue with VMWare Server 2 (build 122956)
and the kvm_intel module from kernel 2.6.24-22.45; despite unloading the
kvm and kvm_intel modules, VMWare server was unable to start up a
virtual machine. Using the kernel in hardy-proposed, 2.6.24-23.46, I was

I can confirm that on an i386 machine, repeatedly running the hwclock
from util-linux in hardy-updates, version 2.13.1-5ubuntu2, can corrupt
the rtc clock (enough so that the hw clock is corrupted). The version of
util-linux in hardy-proposed, 2.13.1-5ubuntu3, provides a version that
does not.
Can anyone confirm that the kernels in hardy-proposed and intrepid-
proposed address suspend-resume issues for their device that has a
Marvell 8686 chipset? Thanks!

20090112.1; I had a previous installation that I chowned /, /*, and
/usr/* to different users, and then did a non-formatting manual

I can confirm that the finnish translations are improved by this change,

come across is that if the raid was setup using the older version of
grub/grub-installer (e.g. off of 8.04.1 media), grub-install is not re-
invoked and so the second disk still does not have a grub stage 1 in its

pkgbinarymangler .desktop mangling invalidates md5sums control files in the .deb
Colin, people who upgraded from jaunty to karmic and did the test out
grub2 will probably have both grub and grub2 installed (that is at least
the situation with one of my hosts). Unfortunately, update-manager
andapt-getdist-upgrade is resolving the added conflict in

I've reproduced this using the livecd build 20091027, getting the error
message about multiverse and universe failing to be enabled. Examining
/etc/apt/sources.list shows that it has been enabled, but the flash
plugin was not installed, despite the dialog saying it was successful
appearing.
