Benefit of Compiz to audio work?

The Ubuntu Studio team is considering shipping Compiz (with a minimal config) in Ubuntu Studio-Hardy 8.08. Some have said that moving the drawing of windows off the the GFX card would help the load on the CPU and thus keep xruns to a minimum. Any thoughts/ideas on this one? -Cory \m/ -- Ubuntu

Ubuntu Studio has decided to add a keymap to launch gnome-system-monitor. Most windows users see this as a equivalent to Ctrl+Alt+Del. That is of course already mapped and launches the logout dialog. So we decided to use the keys KDE uses to launch their monitor. Ctrl+Esc. This works out great in

Ok. As this has yet again descended into off-topic debate, and nobody has actually given an answer to this question I'm gonna close the issue for us. Ubuntu Studio will set Escape to launch gnome-system-monitor in Metacity but this will not work in Compiz because of the way they do things. Oh well
