I tried adding a vga= setting to the kernel line in the grub
configuration file, as recommended above. I put there vga=ask, and on
boot I am asked to choose a VESA text mode (80*25, 80*50...). The text
mode I choose is used for grub (which was looking alright before, too),
but it doesn't change

After I put my laptop into suspend and return, the flash card reader no

No, the dialog was not missing in stock Dapper but it was missing in
kubuntu.org's Dapper KDE update packages.
In stock Dapper, it shows an Unmounting dialog with a progress of 0%
until the process was completely finished.

Powershot does not work
Removing the splash setting from the kernel line in the grub config
solves the issue. Naturally, it removes the splash screen, I get the

Move to Trash doesn't remove file because gnome_vfs_find_directory() in
rhythmdb_entry_move_to_trash() returns GNOME_VFS_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED. Rhythmbox

prevu is a tool that automates backporting of packages from newer ubuntu
versions to older.
This is a strange policy I must say. First of all I haven't tested feisty at
all - I would suppose it works because it has the newer plugin, but I can't
guarantee 100%.

I already updated the initrd.img after adding the off alias. After
that the initrd did not load the driver any more, but /etc/init.d/udev
did in a later stage of booting.
The blacklist entry is new to me.

I might add that similar behaviour comes up when trying to connect to a
remote ssh server fails.
1) add a remote ssh server via places
2) doubleclick the shortcut to this server via the desktop.
3) Above does not react now and then (another bug, I know)
4) Nautilus starts using 100% cpu.
The proposed patch might fix other issues, but it doesn't fix the
problem I reported. ;-)
It seems that in versions of nss_ldap =241, you need to specify the
port in the hostname, or use an URI for ldaps to work. The bug is also
present in version 253 compiled from source.
If I change my config
When a bug is fixed to the current distribution it's marking as fixed.
Ubuntu 6.10, the newest Ubuntu release
so its not fixed in current distribution, its fixed in beta. If this is

On Edgy
1. Go to Places - connect to server
2. Choose FTP
3. In the server field enter a non-existing ftp server. (i used my own server
in my home network. Because i can't reach my ftp with ftp.domain.com from
inside my network without adding
Please reopen the bug if this happens with the latest releases.

I checked a moment ago on Dapper's Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 (20061115) and it works
fine now!
I think the bug may be closed as either fixed or not reproducible.
