Confirming bug as another user experienced the same problem, only with
Ubuntu Herd2 (slightly different traceback).
I think this bug is really connected with Windows partitions as I could install
Herd2 w/o problems on my Linux-only laptop (HP nw8240).

This behaviour is caused by the fact dash (which is the default /bin/sh in
ubuntu) does not accept any parameter for the 'type' command, thus exiting with

Network is a bad name for a menu. Many users don't know what it means,
or if they do, are scared by it. I'd suggest Internet instead.

No menu should have a sub-menu called Other. It doesn't help to
identify the contents at all, and is downright unseemly. I'd suggest

When I try to format a previously written DVD-RW with my USB recorder, I obtain

This occured with my Dell Latitude D600 in a docking station. Perhaps
this also applies to regular Computers. When the monitor isn't connected
on boot-up or is switched off the resolution of the desktop is set to
800x600.

Clean install of Kubutnu Herd2 is not that bad, but I have noticed that
it uses Sans Serif font as default. I had old user from Dapper times,
so my fonts were Deja Vu, which seems to have rendering issue with
latest fontconfig update.

Yes the backport was rejected. I found OOo 2.1 in the .deb format here:
