I just upgraded to Gutsy, everything wireless was fine in Feisty, but

1.) Open the terminal. ( ALT + F2 ) then type in ccsm.
2.) CompizConfig Settings Manager should pop-out.
3.) Go to General Options and then to Desktop Size.
4.) Change Horizontal Virtual Size to 4.

I think I have found a fix for the issue of the garbage at the
right/bottom when forcing compiz to start despite the failed texture
size. By setting a virtual size I manage to use my preferred resolution
(1280x800), without needing to revert to 16bpp:

Yes. I compiled my own kernel, exactly like Ubuntu's except for SLAB
being enabled instead of SLUB, and now the machine suspends properly. It
doesn't wake up properly, but that's another, older bug (Bug #84991).

Michael, I put the previous primary hd into the #2 position of the
laptop drive bay. When I tried to boot I got a locked machine sitting
at a light blue screen. When I took the software damaged drive out and
booted from the new hd and Gutsy it came up fine. I did not change
anything

This is fixed in Gutsy (util-linux 2.13-8ubuntu1). UDF+iso9660 dvds are
mounted as udf. iso9660-only discs are mounted as iso9660.
