I should have been more clear: I mostly saw high i/o load, not CPU
usage, and the .sqlite file was ~30MB. This came several days after
installing your package (and deleting the old .sqlite files). Now things
run fine with the official update, but I wonder if it can kick in again
after some time.

Check permissions on your $HOME/.thinkfinger.bir file. Mine was owned
by root and everything worked except gnome-screensaver. Changing

Let me annotate that in some localizations (like German), the button's text

I have some follows up on this bug report. I have fixed the problem with
the fglrx driver that comes with hardy: it was my fault I forgot to
unblacklist the kernel module after trying to install the latest version
from ATI. Yet the fglrx (catalyst 8.4) kernel module from ATI still does
not link

Gnome Power Manager doesn't show brightness control anymore in Hardy. It works
fine in Gutsy while it had no effect on my Sony TX2 laptop with the default
kernel but this could be fixed easily through compiling the 2.6.24 on my own.

Guidance-Power-Manger doesn't recognize if mains is plugged out and
battery put in (to save battery lifetime I always plug the battery of if
it isn't needed) in hibernate/suspend-to-disc mode. I have to restart
the power manager that the battery is detected and the battery profile
gets enabled.
I tried your suggestions but the problem persists.
What I have found is that if I comment out the item.set_submenu(menu)
line (in this method and the next, because the Open Recent Translation
code has the same problem) the program no longer freezes. The Open

Seen when upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04, and before.
When the Replace the customised configuration file `foo' window
appears containing a unified diff of the customised and intended
replacement versions of foo, the window is a fixed size.
I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #15029. That wants a posher
display or an external program. I just want some flags altered so the
window manager will let me improve the existing view. This should be a
lot quicker and simpler to do.

It seems the fix has been propagated to the 4.0 branch in 4.0.4.
Now suspend works on my computer under KDE4 and hibernate also, although it
does not resume from hibernation (btw, what is the command KDE uses for
going into hibernation so I can tweak it and replace it with s2 which actually

is executed which first stops ntpd, then calls ntpdate and then starts ntpd.

Doesn't work for me either.
I think it's a common problem, not only for Linux. I used Everest
Ultimate to detect the touchpad in Windows, but got the same result, it
is recognized as a Logitech wheel mouse.
