I have 2.28.2 and http://www.gnome.org/projects/totem/#codecs gives a
list of needed gstreamer plugins, but the names are not the same as in
Ubuntu. There is also two that have -bad in them, one from multiverse.

Heres /var/log/apt/term.log
at first i got error from trying upload directly to LP. Cannot upload empty
file.
then i sudo mousepad var/log/apt/term.log and its not empty. maybe couse its
root it couldnt be uploaded but thats strange. its not like uploading is
writing its only reading.
so i tryd

got another crash, after which I noticed the USB disk was not mounted
anymore.

Hi Bryce, I can confirm this issue and I can see it both with compiz and
metacity. Hope this answers your question, let me know if you have any

I also have an intel video card btw.
