The internet has a much weaker signal in Kubuntu (anywhere from 20-40% and
fluctuation is common while in Ubuntu I see no fluctuation in my house, I get 5
bars
I'm attaching images of the wireless bars from Kubuntu and Ubuntu. The
computer wasn't moved at all. I took the image in Kubuntu first,
rebooted into Ubuntu, took image in Ubuntu. As you can see Kubuntu shows
2 bars, Ubuntu shows 4 bars (above I said 5 but there is a max of 4, my
mistake).

I don't think this is what I'm talking about as I did download about 20
of them on my first install of Kubuntu through the method that I listed,
just went to download new widgets selected the google source, scanned
through about 30 pages of widgets and one click downloaded them. I was
using at

Sorry last post, I have found quite a few forums with the same concern,
some people are saying that it's a licensing issue but here are a couple
links that I think is what I'm talking about, one person says they have

my desk. In Kubuntu about half the time I connect with 2 bars (out of
the 4 in the kde network manager) the other half I get full bars (no
moving computer) while in Gnome I always get 85-90% full

I just had the problem where mplayer (actually for me it was vlc since
it's my default media player) opened on another machine. I found that
the only way to fix it is to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Intrepid, if you

of the problem and the fix. For some reason when you continue to use the
.local folder from 8.04 it makes the problem happen for 8.10, so if you
remove the .local folder completely and then restart, intrepid creates
its own

maybe that's where the issue lies is when you have different partitions

Loadavg is flawed in conky. I have loadavg + cpu monitoring and graphs
for my duocore 2 and the loadavg consistently has non valid numbers.
With my CPU monitors I had 15% or less for both, CPU graphs showed low
usage but loadavg. showed 1.05 .8 and
I think it could easily be a problem with the 64bit Gutsy, or maybe the
interaction between conky and the 64 bit version. I have left conky on
all day with my system (12+ hours) and never see a memory leak problem
with Conkyrarely get above 30% of my RAM even when I am running

My roomate actually found out the problem. The sample .conkyrc file had
something that was interfering with it and keeping it on top if added to
