Installing from jaunty 20090112 alternate left me with an empty (zero
length) /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I copied the
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.failsafe file to /etc/X11/xorg.conf and rebooted.
This gave me a usable screen with a grainy look and some strange color
artifacts.

The issue still remains !
This time I tried a normal restart from the User Switcher Applet.
But the system wouldn't shut down properly, the progressbar turned from left to
right, more than it used to, then the console cursor blinked fast in upper
right corner of the screen.

Previously I constantly ran into Out of SW-IOMMU space errors with my
SATA controller (ATI Technologies Inc SB600 Non-Raid-5 SATA). Since
applying the attached patch to the 2.6.24-21-xen kernel of my
Works now, seems the ISP provides different sets of DNS's from time to time.
What I did was: remove PIN leave password and username blank.
I'm getting the DNS's you described automatically from ISP now. Without
editing /etc/resolv.conf

How on earth is bluez-gnome not an option? I can't fathom why something
(a bluetooth GUI!) many people have used for all of the recent releases

Problem happened with an on-line upgrade from 08.04 to 08.10 as well.
Laptop specs.
Intel core 2 duo processor
2gb ram
intel GMA950.
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo series.

Binary package hint: python3.0
Release candidate 1 has been released on 17-Sep-2008. I think it would
help a lot of people when it gets included into Intrepid. When using the
language wich is not yet final, it's handy to test with the latest
version.

having the latest software after all.

I'm confirming this issue in Intrepid, I can't compile a simple hello
world program without reverting back to an old libtool.

There is no intrepid version of that repository yet. The hardy version
wont install because it needs libopenal0a, and in intrepid there is
libopen0a. So it has an unmet dependency.

Offcourse, but I think with the new version of the GIMP, this is the
case. I was referring to this quote that is on the ubuntu.com website.
GIMP 2.6 is definitely the latest and greatest version.
We issue a new desktop and server release every six months.
I also second this wish.
There is a repository which you can vieuw here: http://wiki.python-
ogre.org/index.php/LinuxBuildV2 . But I don't think they are made for
Hardy or Intrepid.

Happens every time. IP equals broadcast and subnet is 255.255.255.255
What changes is the device referred to; it's sometimes ttyUSB0, sometimes
ttyUSB1...
