a while it pauses.
If at this point (the screen is still blank) I press enter, it starts
loading something further, so I assume it's at some secondary menu or
something, but I can't tell cos of the blank screen.
Any ideas?

2366-97U with a clean install (not an upgrade) from the desktop
installer release of Feisty (not a beta) to a new 40gb hard disk drive
using the basic installation defaults.
