I've started using Ubuntu, several different flavors since I migrated from
Windows a little over a year ago.
A couple things I learned...the hard way...
1) There's a difference between upgrade and update.
The safest way to upgrade to a different OS version is to do a fresh
install, and make
sound.
Then I click the green button with white checkmark...and voila My sounds
return right there and then.
I'd like to also point out that after clicking that button, it gets very
slightly either light grey or darker grey and is extremely difficult which is
which.
Hope this helps. ~Leo
I run Ubuntu Studio 12.04.4 and KXStudio 12.04; both have .
HardInfo 0.5.1 (System Profiler and Benchmark) and
System Monitor
Version 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
Using KDE Development Platform 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
I find both listed in Ubuntu Software Center.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit on one of my hard drives.
Might there be an advantage to upgrading to 14.04?

I only have two SATA 300GB hard drives, each with it's own distro. I feel more

(which I frefer over Ardour 3)?
