Ralf, after viewing your suggested links, and taking into account your comment 
"...The best thing to do, is to ignore home pages that need flash player...", 
it reminded me that
 sometime in the past, as I was trying various distros, I ended up having 2 
browsers available,
i.e., Firefox and Chrome. So if I have any issues from this point forward, I'll 
just add Chrome to my choice of browsers.
I like simplicity. ;)

Tried 'start page' ..  for Zimboanga it gives ads and zero information.. a 
pretty poor showing as a search engine
