No, it wouldn't. Your card is new enough to support TurboCache, and it
therefore shares some RAM with the system.

I can confirm this bug on my Dell Inspiron 510m with AlpsPS/2 ALPS
GlidePoint touchpad. Downgrading to version 0.99.3-2ubuntu4 fixes the
problem. However, the downgrade triggers bug #327428: some pixels can
not be reached anymore.
By the way, doing 'rmmod psmouse; modprobe psmouse proto=imps'
Same issue here. This is a show stopper for GUI application development
since you cannot switch back to the debugger when a breakpoint is hit.

I think I've found my solution. Somewhere on the Internet someone
suggested adding an NvAGP line to xorg.conf. I tried this and it seems
to work for me on both Hibernate and Suspend. No twitchyness thus far,
but I have yet to comb the log files for gotchas.

talking about catching up to windows. The main reason is that the
graphics drivers for intel are currently (relatively) unstable. If you
read the bug description, intel is doing a major rework of their linux
drivers.
