I have this bug on Jaunty 64-bit using GNOME. I have Geforce GTX 285 and
185.18.14 drivers.
The problem occurs quite rarely. Usually after my computer has been on
for the whole day. The system freezes randomly for three seconds and I

OK, the new version also defaults to EXA. It will only force XAA if you
are low on VRAM, but your 64MB is considered enough.
Many random freezes issues have been fixed in Karmic or xorg-edgers, so

I just remembered that I have a modified xorg.conf file. I have changed
my AccelMethod to UXA (Ubuntu Juanty 64 bit). This was because under the
default setting, the terminals in gnome were unusable for me as the
scrolling speed was too slow. Using UXA the terminals are normal and

In Karmic, I seem to be having troubles with the Hue setting. At first
it was defaulted to -1000 (rather than Jaunty's 0), resulting in blue-

I've gone ahead and forwarded this upstream as an X bug, however really
some additional analysis ought to be done. I don't think there's enough
info on the upstream bug for us to be able to expect a response, but who
knows, worth a shot I guess.
It would be helpful to narrow this to a test code

I have got fglrx to work on Ubuntu/Jaunty with the latest driver from ati
(ati-driver-installer-9-8-x86.x86_64.run).
