inspection of Mario's patches ("0001-Move-the-logic-for...patch" and

NVKnownChipsets[], generated by "parse_pci_ids.pl", won't contain any

I also note that turning on visual effects after switching to a
1400x1050 on LVCD and 1680x1050 for the VGA, it freezes identically as

I tried rolling back libgl1-mesa-dri and libgl1-mesa-glx, and it had no affect.
It looks like compiz is getting no hardware
acceleration whatsoever, and is unable to render windows larger than about half
the screen (the background is also black).

That worked! Turns out I'm just a dumbass. Having just rebooted, my
memory usage is 465mb, with Xorg using 105mb. I'll let you know the

Doing another upgrade in a different pc with ati card (my internal pc
name refs: pcgiusc) i get same error and now i can send lspci -vvnn and
xorg.log... in the tar.gz attached here...

This is still an issue for me.
After I change the hue in totem properties to either side it shows
correctly, even after closing and opening another video.

Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question or the wrong place to
ask, but:
As I've (wrongly) patched and installed xorg, what steps would I need to
take to rectify? I assume that the patching didn't actually work and I
ended up installing a vanilla version. Would I first need to remove the
setting useBlur to false resolves the problem for kde kwin users. It's a
workaround.
I still have the bug in my karmic (updated today). I'm testing on a netbook
(eeepc 901) so intel 945gm

Guys, system(Karmic) up and running with backclear patch for 20 hours
and there are no memory leaks. Xorg using about 110 mb of memory. Thank
you Felix for helping us with this endless battle Ubuntu vs ATI :) Also

That's pretty much exactly what I did, yes.
