Cold booting works fine for me. Rarely I have got a black screen but

After adding the PPA and installing the new kernel stuff under karmic
Webots still freeze the graphical system. I checked glxgears to make
sure, that 3D still works in general.

There is a lot of screen flicker during boot however (and at login screen).

I have a dual head system and have the nvidia-current drivers for lucid
active.
Sequence:
- boot, login, start the nvidia GUI
- select twin view and arrnage the two monitors. Perfect.
Problem: on restart I had to redo the settings again.
How can the layout be saved.
