I updated my packages with the latest PPA :
- gallium works fine
- classic does not crash, but does not show any pipe, just black screen, so I
tried a Backtrace: after the (gdb) run , the black window appears, and after
~10 seconds the (gdb) window displays the following message :

I think that in 10.04 this would be classified more as a feature request
than a bug. The middle click/right click with 2 fingers/3 fingers works
well, as does two finger scrolling. I've pretty much forgotten about the
above mentioned drag and drop functionality.

Today I updated Maverick. And after several reboots without a problem. I
also think the grub-pc update might fixed the problem. And I did not use
the nopat option anymore.
Only the warnings in my /var/log/Xorg.0.log from comment #20 are still
there

Yeah, and in case you get too interested in the gdm and xorg config and
logs. Don't. I start Xorg with startx, since my primary Xorg fails.

That's intentional I'm afraid, the nvidia drivers install a blacklist
for nouveau since it will not work if nouveau is loaded.
