Thanks to eMcE's hack, I succeeded in getting my screen back.
Still, there one glitch : Upon restarting, it went on the console,
because it could not find the nvidia driver. I guess it was because I
installed nvidia-current alongside nvidia-96. The solution was to choose
nvidia-96 driver instead
For anyone wanting a semi-fix that doesn't entail restarting while
waiting for evdev to be updated:
1) Even if the mouse is frozen, press Alt-F2 and type gnome-terminal
without quotes, then Enter.
2) Type xinput list without quotes, Enter, and note the id of the keyboard
listed under Virtual
Ximarx, you should report your problem separately, because this bug
relates to xserver-xorg-video-intel package.

Yes!! For me, 260.19.12 fixed that bug!! No spam in syslog, try
suspend/resume later!

I had a working X but since I ran the latest updates for Ubuntu yesterday I got
the error X: ../../../../include/privates.h:122: dixGetPrivateAddr: Assertion
`key-initialized' failed.
