These gpu lockup bugs typically involve your computer freezing (except
sometimes the mouse cursor moves), with a blank screen or the screen no
longer painting or responding to clicks. Only way to recover is to
power cycle your computer.
Do you ever notice problems such as that? From the log
I think this lockup bug was likely due to the older mesa that was
present in ia32-libs.
Version 20090808ubuntu11 was just recently added to natty a day ago;
it's possible at the time your system locked up that you had the older
version of ia32-libs with the broken mesa.
Have you had any system
This doesn't sound like an X bug. Instead it sounds like the indicator
icons haven't been found properly.
Moving to the relevant icon theme, but they'll need more details in
order to do anything useful with this.

workaround - Bob, when you enable dual monitors log out and back in
again and it should be ok, you will need to add a logout button to the

with the incorrect style, that style may be valid for unity3d but not
for unity2d. The style would change after it has been packed into the
container.

Rodrigo, for me, the sleep-workaround didn't help in any way, either
(even with sleep 5 or sleep 10). And I'm on the fast end :)
As said, for me, gdm's gnome-settings-daemon seems to actually hang
after I'm logging in. Still seems to be some kind of a race condition,
as this only happens maybe 1

Connecting external mouse works. Tried multiple times, but after
updating for the first time around 11 AM on 4/1/11 (not an April Fool's
joke), every time I touch the touchpad or its buttons, x crashes and
goes back to login.
This is on fresh install of 11.04 beta 1, btw

Issue is still present in virtualbox.
If I disconnect the session and login another one after a few seconds the issue
is visible (it switch automatically to a gtk not themed)

Nvidia was purged, thank you. Now fglrx comes up clearly and i can use
the classic desktop. For me this bug i solved.
