I have Ubuntu 10.10 and I've just observed this issue a few minutes ago
(for the first time in my life).
I read this has been fixed, and my update manager automatically gets all
updates, so what do I have to do to get the fix? I thought all critical
bugfixes would always be automagically
I'm also having this same problem. I have a dell notebook, Vostro 3550

for some minutes right after turning it on. After a while it stopped,
but yesterday after I've downloaded and installed the last updates, the

Same as computermacgyver It started happening recently and the OS is now
really unstable. It crashes somewhat randomly and my CTRL-ALT-F1 doesn't
work. This is seriously affecting my workstation.

The @ is on the G key. Under OSX, we print it using ALT+g.
a workaround for me is to remap the Right Command key (apple key) to act

for xmodmap :
clear Mod4
keycode 134 = ISO_Level3_Shift
add Mod4 = Super_L
So tu right
Another possible key to be remaped as AltGr is the one between le right command
and home key in the picture.
This key is totally useless, it's just a second ENTER key.

What is a contributing factor is keystrokes and mouse movements. A pop

@quequotion, smspillaz was just being very cautious and backed out the

a time when ABI compatibility was required.
While I argued that the header changes did not affect ABI compatibility,
it is now irrelevant. Because we have
