Since we're past feature freeze and I updated to new versions of apps in
the debian-unstable git branch (which hasn't been uploaded yet either)
I'm attaching a debdiff with just the fix for sponsorship. The full

On this MacBook Air 4,2 using bcm5974, input stops responding until
unity --replace is run from a VT and repeats after ~10 minutes. The
pointer still moves, but you can't interact with the system anymore. I
notice it triggered most often when 2 finger scrolling in chrome.

effects me, serious issue is true.
I upgraded to beta of 12.04 to see if problem went away.
With 12.04 it reports that gnome shell crashed.
With 11.10 it reports nothing, just crashes.
Logout and login to fix with 11.10, 12.04 resets itself.

Thanks for the log. I notice that it looks like it's trying to turn
eDP-1 on and off repeatedly; I wonder if that might be involved with or
the cause of your blinking.
There have been a long litany of issues with DisplayPort on Ironlake

Sorry to change this back to incomplete, but this is not fixed yet and
still persists. Every time I start to type or use the keys within the
Desktop environment after logging in I lose my touchpad functionality.
