without the invalid framebuffer id line in dmesg, and when I switched to
a VT and back the VT text stayed visible (i.e. the screen was not

Really? I mentioned I ge the same problem with both nouveau and the
nvidia proprietary drivers, and this gets reassigned to just xserver-
xorg-video-nouveau? I'll assume until told otherwise that bugbut is
just automated and didn't notice that part of the report until told
otherwise.
