package xdiagnose 2.7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed
this problem exists on Linux Mint 12 and 13, but for some reason is not
affecting me on Ubuntu 12.04...
unchecking disable touchpad while typing fixes the issue. in order to
avoid accidental clicks, you must also unceck enable mouse clicks with
touchpad and use the purpose-built buttons only :)

Can't use fr/oss keyboard layout by default

I continue to experience this bug irrespective of which graphics driver
I have installed. In my case, whenever I am using the keyboard the
system is at risk of a crash. I know this because on this particular
machine, I rarely use the keyboard as it is being used primarily as a
virtualisation
Better styled is vague (and considering some of the icons in Unity) is
unlikely to be a realistic goal.
xterm #281 has svg- and png-icons for the use of people with legitimate
technical concerns.

Have the same problem with my system (Dell OptiPlex GX520, Intel®

I solved creating
Using the 3.5.0-3.3 kernel from the q-lts-backport archive, and xorg
from precise, the system boots and appears usable, but still the same
issue with the second display being 100% red. It also appears the
quantal daily image from today sort of works again, after a few toggles
of the mirror display
Hello, this is just to say that I experienced this issu as well. For me,
it is a shame, but the only way I managed to have a normal session
logged in has been to begin using only the onboard graphic card instead
of my Nvidia. In order to do that, I blacklisted all the drivers from
Nvidia.

Plug my laptop to external monitor through HDMI port.

xrandr protocol. Drivers supporting xrandr have this ability already;
the screen resolution falls back to the laptop's own screen if the
external monitor is disconnected during suspend, as far as I know.

xorg-edgers kernel update from 3.5.0.3.3 to 3.5.0.4.4 today so I thought
I would give it a test running Unity. Note, as my previous comment I can
run kernel 3.2 forever without issue. So I upgraded and rebooted to
3.5.0.4.4 and I
I got my system working again by:
1. Loading failsafe X
2. Downloading and installing the latest fglrx
3. Rebooted (but then Wine wouldn't start - this is usually a sign that fglrx
is NOT installed)
4. Installed the fglrx-updates packages
5. Rebooted
I'm back to normal for now AFAICT. This
