i have also been affected by this bug, but i think it is not from
xserver-xorg-video-intel. instead i believe it is due to some change in the
kernel.
i have a core i5 based system using the integrated graphics, on a p8h67-m pro
motherboard. i am running 12.04.

The windows on desktop are visible but I haven't the control to move
them (all windows are static), no buttons are working, but the muose
cursor il moving on screen.
This happen every 10-30 minutes. To restart I must push the power button
to interrupt the supply.

The vga output works ok even at 1920x1080.

I tried with mplayer2 and vlc as Xv video players.
I tried with Pekwm and Fl
I installed the driver, made sure It was being used when I restarted X. Didn't
work. Still getting the same exact glitch.
Again, the glitch resembles a *very* slow version of what I'm supposed to be
seeing with a very bad red/black stripped tint to it.

launcher and dash on the second screen are no longer transparent.

I can confirm this bug in raring. Synclient can't find synaptics
properties and there is no touchpad-tab in mouse settings gui.
Two-finger-scrolling, edge-scrolling and multi-touch
Reverting to 3.5.0-25 did it here. Stability went from this:

The problem is that Xorg hasn't registered the igfx as the boot-vga
device and so is looking for a primary display and fails (it loads the
-intel as a secondary GPU only screen).

I had the latest supported version of xserver-xorg-video-intel for
Precise which is 2:2.17. Tried ppa:xorg-swat first which installed
2:2.19. That didn't help. Then tried xorg-edgers which installed
2:2.21.5+ That seems to have worked. Has not seen the issue again
