Hi guys!
Glad to see that my patch works for you. I left Ubuntu some time ago to
try some other systemd-enabled distros (Fedora and openSUSE) for better
multiseat support. Thanks to your collaboration, I will be back to
Ubuntu soon.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to

I have tested the latest proposed compiz, mesa etc. package and it is
faster than reported in #1206397, but logout dialog is still incredible
slow and the side bar sluggishness is still present. And the HUD and

Chris,
on Lubuntu mailing list we have a thread speaking about a workaround for

No, that is a bug in adobe's software renderer not being able to handle
any none 24-depth framebuffers. It equally affects you if have a 30- or
36-bpp monitor. The correct workaround here is specifying DefaultDepth

Completely unrelated to this bug.

Ian,
Your screenshot shows that Compiz is getting bad textures from the
driver/hardware. Compiz always renders everything in triangles but their
textures should fit together seamlessly. Most likely it's a driver bug.
You might want to try installing AMD's own driver fglrx.
Alternatively, you
