Presario v5000. My mouse would randomly either stop working completely
(rare) or my ability to click and select objects was completely gone. My
annoying bandaid fix was to "sudo rmmod psmouse, and sudo modprobe

I was having this same error recently until I followed the instructions
in the X/Testing/GEMLeak wiki page
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Testing/GEMLeak). After upgrading to the PPA
packages glxinfo started to report OpenGL 1.2, my GPU reset problems
went away, and things got much snappier.
Same issue for me too with Kubuntu 10.04, Thinkpad T42.
This issue does not occur when I use Ubuntu 10.04, which makes me wonder
whether its really an xorg bug or if it might be something else.

The kernel portion of this work is targeted at kernel 2.6.32 (Kristian
Hogsberg has been posting the patches most recently). There are also
libdrm, mesa, xserver and driver changes required, which should land in
the Intel gfx Q3 release, and in the next stable X server release.

Ah nevermind, it looks like that patch was pulled from upstream (see the
