Just a suggestion: I'm now going to uncheck 'xorg-edgers' in Synaptic
after successfully installing Nvidia 304.37. This way I will avoid
possible problems with future updates from this 'bleeding edge' repo.

I think we finally have this solved! I installed Nvidia driver 304.37 using
this: http://ppa.launchpad.net/xorg-edgers/ppa/ubuntu not wanting to take a
chance on a manual install with my kernel upgrade. (3.4) Kudos to the Nvidia
team for staying with this.

to be working fine for me. I had been experiencing crashes every time I tried
to watch a Youtube in 'HD mode'. The video would play for maybe 1 or 2 minutes

be related by something in the Nvidia drivers since many of us are affected
simply by watching videos; not necessarily streaming or downloading. If I don't

Looks like we finally got a fix. I just installed Nvidia driver 302.17, watched
a 55 min. Hulu video using Unity 3d without crashing. Prior version 302.11
worked fine in 2d mode only, crashed to login in 3d. I also observed that temp
didn't rise while watching movie. Nvidia settings showed
Well, sadly it looks like I spoke too soon! Just experienced crash to
login about 10 mins into a flash video. Back to work, guys.

I would like to be added as a subscriber to this bug. This finally lists people
with the same type crashes/logouts I have been getting ever since I installed
12.04-x86_amd64. I also receive the same error messages. I can watch videos in
2d mode without problems-when I switch to 3d I start
I installed latest Nvidia driver for my gpu-9800GT: 302.07. I played flash
video after install-ran for maybe 10 secs. before logout.
Guys, need to try again. On a positive note, my GPU temp per: Nvidia-settings
lowered to 52 deg. C. Never before been lower than 56.

This has been going on with me also since did clean install last
Friday. I removed everything pertaining to Nvidia through Synaptic-now
using Nouveau driver-no problems now.
