So, anyone will help to dig on this?? Cause final release is about to
come... I always used Kubuntu but if this problem persist, I will have to
switch to other distro.
Thanks.

Hi,
Any news about this guys? Acer aspire 5XXX Notebooks are very common (at
least here in Argentina) and have simile hardware which if all of them
have this bug will be very annoying. Personally, my Family have 3 of

Black and white S-video output only on PAL TVs with intel
OK, I think I found the ultimate workaround. :)
If you hate running randr all the time, as much as I do, you can try
this:
1.- Make sure your 'Section Device' contains this:
Driver intel
2.- Add the following section:
Section Monitor
Identifier TV
Option
install.
UXA fixes all the bugs of the previous driver: Display corruptions and X
freezes. Plus, it doesn't introduce _any_ bugs.
So, I'd really recommend it to you.

[i965] X freezes starting
Forgot to add that UXA works flawlessly, it doesn't introduce another
bug. It just works like a charm (I've been using it for one week, played
3D games, used 3D effects, etc).

fixes the freezes, but introduces more bugs (Can't play 3D games
anymore, window transparencies don't work anymore, etc).
