Hey smoser,
You filed this bug report against natty, but I see it's still open and
doesn't appear to have much activity recently. So, now that oneiric
is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade
and re-test if this issue is still present there.

I discovered that disabling the xorg "Composite" extension fixes this
issue for me (For the record, I was having this issue with the
commercial NVidia drivers, not Intel).
In your /etc/X11/xorg.conf add this, and then restart X:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Disable"

I'm using the latest 2.6.39 kernel from the kernel PPA, and I'm
experiencing the same issue. I've also tried the drm-intel-next-
proposed kernel and had the same problems. I'm using a Lenovo T510.

For the record, I am experiencing the same behavior, but I am using the
binary "nvidia" driver, not intel. The problem seems especially likely
to occur when switching to/from terminal windows and emacs instances.

I'm having the same issues here with recent natty (as of May 2) using a

Hi Scott,
Are you still seeing this corruption with current natty?
If so, would you mind testing the experimental Intel kernel branch? We
have .debs for it available here:

didn't know them actually).
I tried just now and reproduced using them, though.

your bug description. Are you able to reproduce the issue using just
mouse navigation to other virtual desktops via the desktop switcher? Or
what about using ctrl+alt+left_arrow?
