c. UCS-2.
Depending on your locale, different approaches are taken to encoding
messages. In China I think all messages are sent as UCS-2. In Hong
Kong, first GSM is tried, but if that can't represent all of the
characters then UCS-2 is the fall-back.

on the addition of the Euro to the various Windows double-byte code
pages (CP950, CP932, CP936, CP949). In particular, was the the Euro
added to CP932 for Windows 2000-J (at location 0x80), or is this just
a wild rumor?
Thanks,

Hi list,
I've got GBK-encoded text that contains a number of Traditional Hanzi
characters. I'd like to convert all of these to their Simplified
equivalents. So does anybody know of a GBK table that maps each
Traditional form to its Simplified form?
Thanks,

no unique Unicode equivalents. The first 93 of them do appear in the Simplified font we're using. So, are these 94 half-width ASCII characters user-defined additions, or are they indeed part of GBK?

of the many 3rd party
hacks available. Since these patch the bejeezus out of the OS, it's
not surprising that there would be some problems with proper handling
of Chinese characters.
