I tried the ebuilds on amd64. Everything builds fine, but I can't manage
to start the database.
/etc/init.d/slimserver prints OK, but it does not get actually started.
I rerun it, but still nothing.
I put the log of /var/log/slimserver on attachment.
Note that I used an overlay, I did not directly

Have to be honest, I don't know that much

Uhm right. So maybe it's FAAD2 anyways?
I was using faad2 2.0-r13 (from gentoo's ~x86 portage tree)
I tried to compile faad2.5 but the tarball must be wanky, cause it
won't compile on my gentoo system. It keeps complaining about a missing
bitmap folder.
I managed to find the bug you're referrin

Question though; does this "emerge" of slimserver use a local mysql

Hi Havoc,
I updated the digests before creating the tarball, so I'm a bit
confused as to why you got this error. It's possible that there are
some stale files lying around which are confusing portage on your
system. Please run:
Code:
cd /usr/portage
rm -Rf dev-perl/YA

I didn't follow that wiki, but I've now checked that all the mentioned
modules are installed as part of the steps I took prior to getting the
error message
I got mine this night through all the dependencies (had troubles) and
got this:
Code:
>>> Emerging (1 of 1) media-sound/slimserver-6.5.0 to /
* SlimServer_v6.5.0.tar.gz MD5 ;-) ...
[ ok ]
* SlimServer_
Thanks to all who've provided feedback. I've updated the ebuilds.

It seem that I failed to install slimserver.

What version of FAAD are you running? There is a note on the Wiki
about a bug in v2.0 when the -w switch is used
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?AAC). I am running FAAD v2.5

Hi there
I have 6.5 running fine on Windows, but ultimately I want this to
reside on a dedicated Linux machine. I've installed Mandriva 2007 and
have come as far as getting to this error message (after having been
able to overcome a few others first):
