Likewise I'm on 7.2.1 without any issues. Try removing the cache first.
If that doesn't do the trick try a purge and reinstall as follows:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge squeezecenter
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install squeezecenter

Yes, altho most folks use a keyboard to select the grub/l

bump the thread up. After being with his blind date all
evening, the man couldn't take another minute with her. Earlier, he had
secretly arranged to have a friend call him to the phone so he would
have an excuse to leave if something like this
happened. When he returned to the table, he lowered

Otherwise you can't traverse the tree to access files or
subdirectories.

Yes! That was it alright. :)
...For some reason I had the testing release as well as the stable
release listed as a software source. Thinking back now, I think this is
how I sorted some earlier problem, but I can't recall what that was now

Anyway, I just
I doubt reverting to 7.0 will fix your problem. I run Ubuntu 8.04 and
didn't see any slow down between 7.2 and 7.0 (or 7.1 for that matter).
Maybe you should try this (will blow away the mysql cached data)
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/squeezecenter stop
sudo rm -r /var/lib
Well, since I'm running:
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2 - 22900 @ Tue Aug 26 10:45:08 PDT 2008 -
Debian - EN - utf8
and, as far as I know, that is the current 'stable' release, I think
that you are using a development (testing) version.

Actually, you need to have execute permissions on the directories, and
really shouldn't give everyone write permissions on anything. You don't
want to give user 'squeezecenter' write permissions, just in case some

I never (knowingly) installed a nightly build, but your guess is a good

Which version of SC are you running?
Just a guess, but if you're running a development version which is
subject to nightly builds, I suspect that there is a new version every
night (even if there have been no code changes).

Hi again,
I still have this problem and no idea how to make squeezecenter stop
showing on auto-update. If I _do_ install, it does indeed do something
(squeezebox needs to be re-pointed to the server), but again & again I
still get the notification.
It's a small thing, but a pain. Any help?

Hi
As some of you have experienced with 7.2, I've had MySQL connection
problems since the upgrade form 7.0 to 7.2
Is there anyway of reverting back to 7.0?
My new 7.2 installation is SLOW! It takes ages to load up any page, and
it struggles to play any songs in my playlist.
I'm running Ubuntu
