The minimum disk space you need for a basic Ubuntu install is about
3GB.  You can get by with a lot less if you're installing the "Server"
version. (Maybe 0.5GB)

If you want to change which OS to boot to, you will have to have a way
to select it.  There may be some hacky options like setting a bit to
"boot windows next boot" then reboot to windows and the boot after that
it will boot back to linux.
