proposed by Erland)

Are you familiar with the Linux command line?

Here is one (of many) short tutorials:
http://www.linux.org/article/view/file-permissions-chmod
You could also set the file and folder permissions by opening a terminal
window, then navigating to the music directory, and giving the follo

I'm not going to do this initial release of the "Web-GUI
fstab/mount/partition/format" as an open beta. There is just too much
risk of people doing silly things (or things I haven't planned for) and
possibly data loss.
Unless you have already mounted a drive/share by editing fstab yourself,

Could you clarify this? What did you put in asound.conf to make it work
OK?
KERNEL BUILDING
Another loose end. (I promised to document this.) Unless you are
patient, (I'm not), and have a couple of hours to spare, you probably
don't want to be building the kernel on the Wandboard itself. The source
rpm can be built on the device or cross compiled from a Fedora

I noticed that Triode's FLIRC file, though very useful, was missing some
keys I like to use (such as jump to "now playing"). I also programmed
the fast-forward and rewind keys to be track-seek forward and track-seek
backward since the FLIRC can't currently understand press-and-hold type
operations
Have a read of this:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Debian_Package
It should help to explain what is happening with your files, file
permissions etc. Ubuntu/Linux is fun and very useful, but like every new
o/s it takes a bit of learning. As you can see from all the replies you
are getting,

If you cant set "music folder" in the settings you have a permssion
issue .
The LMS user is not allowed to read ubuntus music folder ,so change the
permissions for the music folder so that it is readable for all users.
Further if you want to save playlist the playlist folderr must also be

you have the standrad web to play music etc and you can also click

I feel really out of my depth here.
I have just installed Logitech Media Server on a netbook running

I have managed to install it OK, and can stream Spotify etc.
However, it only runs on the web interface, and I can't find out how to
get it to scan and find my own music, which I have l
