I hooked everything up, and the tablet app was able to access LMS on my desktop computer (via wireless). I selected a number of different tracks, but no joy, in terms of hearing the playback through my sound system. Does the optical out (digi+ board) have to be selected in the PCP software?

Thanks bpa but my other RPi, without PCP, works fine and this has in general been working well until this upgrade. I used to have Windows-related issues with HLS that went away when you upgraded to DASH. Squeezelite is supposed to play AAC natively so I don't think it is transcoding. It's
