Do you know what those other extensions are? Is it worth me trying to
download them manually? In the list of extensions in the piCorePlayer
repository there are three that start with 'samba'. samba4.tcz and

Yep, definitely rebooted. I don't think you get the option to reinstall
until it reboots after removal. I tried removing it one more time, but
it made no difference.

Hi Paul, I thought
Pete, that is correct. Jivelite is no longer using lircd. You need to
convert to kernel keytables. See this thread.

Hi Paul
I understand the changes you've around GPIO and IR, but it seems like
it's now not possible to have lircd and jivelite installed together. I
couldn't get them working, so I started with a fresh install of 5.0,
then installed lircd for squeezelite, and I could then see the

I spoke too soon. I've got two issues:
1) Samba wasn't running, but having seen others say the same thing I
thought I'd just remove it and then reinstall. But I can't get it to
work after
I was wondering if PiCorePlayer could support a choice of servers. And
if it might be possible to add 'Booksonic'
(https://github.com/popeen/Popeens-DSub) as an option.
Hope this isn't too daft an idea.

Thanks! You guys are great!
Ran HotFix & installed Insitu_update without any problems. I had to
remove Samba but it installed no problems. I tried to update LMS but as

Pete, something went really wrong. Your kernel didn't get upgraded. I
have no idea how that might happen. Can you try to re-run the update
process.

A new copy of LMS is automatically installed with v5.0.0It should be
the latest version. I don't think a nightly has come out since.

Yes, 4.1.2 - 5.0.0 using hotfix, I had to remove and reinstall Samba,
otherwise okay for me.

For Info:
I went from 4.1.0 to 5.0. I am using the same RPi for Squeezelite and
LMS duties. Squeezelite seems OK.
I could not get LMS to runI would click "start" and it got the green
tick. But a refresh saw that go back to the red cross.
I have now uninstalled LMS, and

Thanks for asking this Paul. I sometimes forget the important details
and have updated
I have done the hotfix and updated to v5.0.0. :)

I can't seem to perform a manual update of LMS.:(

Just to be sure, I re-installed the audio
Download & update ran well, however Samba is refusing to start. Have
re-booted, provided a Sever Workgroup as it was removed/missing - still
won't start.
Have also tried 'updating' back to 4.1, but that process fails, so will
have to manually re-install.

Thank you for the new version and thank you for the added DAC support.

hi Paul Webster,
They should work with the default IR install. Through squeezelite or
jivelite depending on configuration.
I tested this many times on the pCP5.0.0 beta and rc. I haven't tested
on the official pCP5.0.0 release yet.

Does 5.0 contain out-of-the-box support for using official Squeezebox IR
remote (in my case with simple TSOP on GPIO) - or will people have to go
through the keytable set-up steps?
