A couple of questions.
Can the MusicIP detection of the default plugin be fooled by setting
some inter container network or port forwarding? I'm assuming that by
default the container looks at the default IP address (which is the
container's private address), and tries that ip address with port
One question regarding docker is there a way to give a dockerized
instance a meaningful name as opposed to the container hash? I realize
most people use ip address to connect to the server, but I got spoiled
by having my server name.

I've been following this thread for a while and I have two simple
questions regarding the compatibility of underlying systems.
If I set up a docker compose file with all the mount points and ports I
want, I should be able to seamlessly switch between docker containers by
change the "image:" entr
This is an oldie, but this plugin was working fine for me until a week

I was wondering what the viability was of writing a script to retrieve

looked at it long enough to understand if those cryptic subdirectory
names have any significance.
Thanks Gordon this is great. Has there been a consensus on the "best"
version of perl to use for lms?

I took would like to see it too.
On my todo list for this year (albeit pretty far down) was to
investigate making a docker container of lms which would build from git
and use an external /var... mount which would allow me to have all my
plugins and such in place when testing new versions as oppo
Not sure if this should be here or in the general LMS forum, but has
anyone tried parsing LMS logs in logstash?

someone else has done it all the better!

I went through what you experienced. I built a window vm to run lms, but
ultimately went to ubuntu. There were 2 big reasons I found.
Under linux you can tweak the configs more since the windows version is
compiled you can't do that. Also I found scanning under linux using
mounted nfs volumes is
I used to run Squeezecenter on my ReadyNAS, and went through the same
thing recently as I had to re-flash my NAS for unrelated reasons and
wanted to make sure I didn't have to go through re-tweaking and config

I moved my config to an Ubuntu 10.4 LTS VM running on Virtualbox

Can you run an ssh tunnel from within those devices to connect to a
remote server the same way that you can with softsqueeze? I mean can you
enable ssh in those devices and run the shh tunnel command from there?
If so it would make for a cool plugin.
I upgraded from 7.3.4 a couple of weeks ago first to 7.5.4 (just to be
cautious) then to 7.7.2 from there. I held back for a long time, and I
can't say I regret it now, since I'm still working out the kinks, but it
wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
As I see it the two biggest changes are th
;t have to tweak the plugins and player customizations.

move Squeeze into a VM which will run in
the main array where space isn't an issue, but that's a while away.
Thanks everyone for your help.
