id the trick so thanks for the tip:
/usr/local/sbin/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 --log=/var/log/pcp_lirc.log
Just put it in User Commands under Tweaks
User command #1 /usr/local/sbin/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0
--log=/var/log/pcp_lirc.log
User command #2 irexec /home/tc/.lircrc

I copied Squeezelite v1.8.4-720 from 2.05 over to 3.00 (therefore
downgrading it) and it seems to have to cured my skipping issues.. No
skip ahead entries in my log and it has been perfectly synced. That's
