Hi everyone, I have a similar problem. 2 weeks ago I also noticed that apt-get update would take forever and now I can't execute apt-get install squeezeboxserver because the ip address of the repo can't be resolved. I did a manual install though by copying the installation file to

see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77518 there are now many repository machines using a DNS scatter to send you to one. But they are wildly inconsistent. So you might pick up a Package file for one version - and then when the download goes to the pool that version's .deb isn't

I noticed this delay also. I put it down to random sunspots or the batteries running a bit low on the server. It's interesting to find out why the repos were slow. Now back to normal. -- mudlark SB3CyrusDACXPreXvsESPAudio P09B Active filterNAP140+260ARhapsody, Avondale and Naim cable,

It is a deb http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main issue. I rem'd this line out of my /etc/apt/sources.list and apt-get update (and aptitude update) completed in their normal timely manner, no hang (testing main unstable main were already rem'd). -- AnotherTribe

For about a week now, I've failed to get http://debian.slimdevices.com stable. I haven't been on these forums for quite a while - I think I must have missed something. Or is it that I'm the only one with this issue? I've looked around the Linux/Unix forum, there doesn't seem to be any

Hey Mark, I had noticed you haven't been around lately. Welcome back. Fwiw, when 7.5.0 was released earlier this week I pulled it from that repo with no problem. Did you do an apt-get update before running the apt-get install squeezeboxserver? -- aubuti

Yes, the gui package manager does an apt-get update first. I just updated other packages on my Ubuntu box that runs SBS, and it hung for awhile when doing the update, but eventually it finished. Same thing when I tried it again via the command line. It hung at 99% of waiting for headers for

Hmmm, you're absolutely right aubuti. Guess I was a little impatient. For me, indefinitely apparently means 3 minutes ;) It still could point to some problems with the repo, 3 minutes is a long time to fetch some headers. Anyways, finally at 7.5.1 now :) -- NooT
