The clean and rescan option works fine (I do not have to clean the
cache), but it takes over 2 hours - I already batch all the changes on
Friday night. Another anoying thing is that by doing the cleaning I

I could be mistaken but I think that, by definition, a scan for "new and
changed" tracks will not delete information that is now obsolete. You
are only adding to the database or changing entries. You'll need to do
a full "clear and rescan" for it to delete the old locations. There's
no "shortcut."
