Thankyou for this advise. This is probaly my real problem. In fact, I
even didn't know about this packages. So I tried it as described in
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/Slugosbe
Unfortunately, installation does not work as described, but I belief,
this would be off topic, I will look out

This is my understanding on an FSG3 - I think it is similar for NSLU2.
if you have no "/opt" then you have not installed op
Hello,
Me too, I have tried to install slimserver using the instruction on the
nslu2 wiki. Here you see what I got. Do you see any error?
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/slimserver# ls -l
total 11984

Hi,
I've just had the same issues.
I made the slimserver account and group owners of all my music files
and DIR's as well as the opt/share/ss65/Slim/Utils DIR.
Something like chown slimserver:slimserver DIRNAME/*.* -R
Good luck!

I had this problem until I did:
chmod a=rwx -R /opt/share/ss65
That cured it for me.

The ipkg that is referred in that link was built for an FSG3 not an
NSLU2 as a result the install does not work properly on the NSlU2.
The ipkg was built to use a MySql 4.0.x - what version of MySql have
you installed ?
I think Mysql is not running - get more info by starting slimserver

I have a similar problem.
I have a brand new NSLU2, never been unslung, never had slimserver
installed.
I am running V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.8-beta, and followed the instructions
(and made some up where there were none!) from here:-
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Applications/SlimServer

Hi,
I've managed to install ss6.5.1 on an nslu2 with Unslung 6.8. I can get
slimserver up and running fine but when I ask it to scan my music
directory I get 0 songs found.
How is your music directory set up? Is it owned by the slimserver user
or it owned by admin with access to group everyone?
I succesfully installed SS on my Slug following the instructions at:
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Applications/SlimServer
It was pretty easy. There were some missing items in these
instructions but they have been corrected.
Performance is fine over my wireless network for streaming and playin
