Jacopo, all,
Could we have a possible links to detailled pages ? Those pages could turn to
be places to centralise information about a topic
using detailled descriptions or links to Nabble Threads, Jira issues, etc.

What helped me was to follow the setup for how the webstore shows the

I had to edit the files controller.xml and CommonScreens.xml (look for

should I put them only for the Trunk?
Does this change the priority of getting them fixed if not in the ver 4.0?

Could be that we need two demos
one for the Trunk and one for the Ver 4.0 which is the most stable
release we have.
Since the Trunk, is susceptible to breakage, and the Clients will not
get what they see in the trunk in the ver 4.0 release Would it not be
more advisable to have the default Demo

This sounds like a good idea. I have still an old demo server (a bit outdated

it runs anymore (I have no screen, only thru VNC). I will get it to reboot and
it could be used for one or the other. I will have

The demo is for a first look before taking the time to download OFBiz,
not for client evaluations. Your probably better off sitting a laptop
in front of your client with 4.0 loaded.

I'd probably rather see it stay with the trunk since there are always
new things going that shouldn't be going into the 4.0 release
branch. I'm open for talking about hosting another one of these as
well, but I doubt that you'd run into that many times where there are

Scott,
You don't have always your client in front of you (in my case it's even rare).
And I found often myself having to run release4.0 and
trunk simultaneously. I have enough version loaded on with differents set of
ports my dev.machine to do that. But I find the idea of
having 2 demo servers
I don't think you would say this if you have used Ubuntu. And if you
install 7.10, you can also have all eye candy things you see in Vista of
course without degrading the performance.
Eclipse runs best on Ubuntu.

Me too. Windows is the best
Eclipse has a help system built in. Goto help and look for workbench
basics. You can also try cheatsheets. Cheatsheets guide you step by step
to perform various tasks in Eclipse. Also look at the perspective. FIXME
and TODOs are reminders to developers of pending tasks. You don't need
to worry
Remote demos is my case 90% of the time. I also send them to the demo
and they come back with it did not work.
this is my concern about having a dynamic demo (trunk) that represents ofiz.

One last piece of wierdness.

The bottom of the product page contains a listing of the features.
It would be the same thing as if the Open Gizmo select box being empty, but
still displaying to the user the images below for BSD, LGPL, etc..
Not sure if it will help but you could try removing that Test-Large
variant you've got it there, it might be confusing things.

Yes, I added that while I was playing around trying to get it to work.

Hi Phillip,
I was Vadoing the similar things and I took the Open Gizmo and Large
Widget example to start with. I did thought the xml data load. Best way
(in my opinion) is to make a copy of the existing stuff in the file

My first guess is that you have created the virtual product (ok), then
you have associated selectable features to it (ok) but you are probably
missing the last step: go to the variants tab (the last in the tabs of
the virtual product) and create the variant products (if you check the
boxes the
